Well, some people thought it was easy looking at the Borromean Rings to see how or if they were connected. Other people said they couldn't work out how the rings connected and what would happen if they were separated. This problem is rather like an optical illusion, it depends what you focus on and it can be difficult to refocus your attention and see something different. Daniel Loh is in agreement, he observed that the rings "are not intertwined but they are supported by each other".

If you take one ring away, the other 2 would be apart from each other.
None of the rings go through each other; but the green goes over the red and under the blue. The blue goes over the green and under the red. The red goes over the blue and under the green - as you look at it on the screen at an angle.
