7486 /www/nrich/html/content/id/7486/ 5 2011-03-07T13:14:23 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <mdoxml version="1.0"><br></br> <h2>Rising to the challenge of enriching your maths teaching</h2> <h3>A free professional development day for NQTs organised by the NRICH Team in Cambridge. </h3> <p><strong>When: Wednesday July 4th 2012<br></br> Where: Cambridge<br></br> Who: Primary NQTs and Secondary Maths NQTs</strong></p> <p><strong>Aim: To support NQTs who want to incorporate rich tasks into their mathematics teaching</strong></p> <p>The day will be highly interactive and will respond to the issues and concerns raised by NQTs.</p> <p>The NRICH Team at the University of Cambridge is offering a free professional development day in teaching mathematics for NQTs teaching in maintained sector primary or secondary schools/colleges in the UK, on 4 July 2012 .</p> <p>On the day we will discuss issues such as include finding and using rich tasks to encourage questioning and discussion, and building both our own and our learners’ confidence.</p> <p><strong>About the day:</strong></p> <p>The programme is for newly qualified teachers of mathematics working in KS R/1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. The aim of the day is to support beginning teachers who are committed to nurturing confident, resourceful and enthusiastic learners.</p> <p>This Teacher Inspiration event will be a full day, held at the University of Cambridge, starting at approximately 10am and ending at approximately 3.30pm, with a mix of plenary speaker sessions and intensive hands-on workshops. The day will be highly interactive and will respond to the issues and concerns identified by teachers.</p> <p>The John Templeton Foundation has generously contributed support to enable us to offer free places to NQTs at maintained sector primary or secondary schools/colleges and academies in the UK.</p> <p><strong>To book places</strong> please complete and return the attached <a href="/content/id/7486/NQT_application%20form_2012.doc">NQT_application form_2012.doc</a> .
