EYFS Teacher Page
We are developing activities in line with the EYFS $2012$. These activities focus on certain aspects of childrens' learning. They talk about what children enjoy doing and what adults could do to facilitate the learning.
We are writing about various aspects that encourage good thinking and learning, namely;
- What they, the pupils, notice,
- The associated mark making,
- Helping the imaginations and conjecturing,
- Exploring the different mathematical aspects,
- Considering the "undoing" process,
- Thinking/saying how we know "it" and why "it" is true.
We also are writing about "The Mathematical Journey" surrounding the particular activity.
We are trying to keep the resources to a minimum.
We are considering other ways of getting into the same mathematics.
Finally we are suggesting - where appropriate - story, rhyme and song links.
Early in $2011$ we started some activities that have been trialled and they can be found here.
These are superceded by the new activities being developed as outlined above.
